A Taste of English

A Taste of English

This week, we, the 4C, prepared menus for our own restaurants. We worked in seven small groups, which meant that we had seven restaurants with different names. On Wednesday, the 28th of January 2026, we performed the role play. We had several roles, like waiters/waitresses and guests. We even had table decorations and napkins. At the end, we got to fill out little feedback sheets.

At the beginning of the English lesson, we started to prepare the “restaurants”. We decorated the desks and also had some snacks to eat. Every desk looked unique. After that, we got some role cards so we could get into our roles. There was one waiter or waitress in each group and two people who were having dinner in other restaurants.

We played four rounds and visited some of the seven restaurants. There, we ordered different things from the menu. For the food, we got cookies from our English teacher, Mrs. Hofer. While our waiter/waitress was serving food and drinks, the rest of our group visited another restaurant. After that, the roles switched, and the waiter/waitress became one of the guests, and so on. All in all, we had a great time preparing and acting.

All the restaurants were creative and well made, and everything went smoothly. The students learned how to act out a good role play, and they got to experience how a waiter or waitress works. In the end, we had lots of fun learning new English vocabulary during the role play.
